About

London Centre for Book Arts (LCBA) is an artist-run, open-access education and resource centre dedicated to book arts and artist-led publishing.

Founded and run by two artists, Simon Goode and Ira Yonemura, LCBA is the first open-access centre of its kind in the UK. Since launching in 2012, the Centre has been a testing ground for community building, creative collaborations, and a sustainable, artist-run business model.

We are based in what was once the heart of London’s print industry in Fish Island, close to Hackney Wick in east London. We run a regular schedule of workshops and courses in bookbinding, printing, and other related subjects.

You are welcome to visit us in person at our studio in Fish Island, east London. The shop is open to visitors Tuesday – Friday, 10am–6pm and Saturyday – Sunday, 11am–5pm.
